School readiness skills are continuously being developed throughout our services from the moment children enter our doors. Independence, resilience, sense of agency and self-help skills are supported throughout the day. Language and literacy development is crucial for a child’s overall growth, it includes both the ability to understand and use language, and the foundational skills needed for reading and writing.
At Woodstock we firmly believe that language and literacy development is fostered through rich language experiences, interactive play, and exposure to print-rich environments. This exposure to enriched language environments starts from the babies’ room, all the way through to the preschool room.
