Our indoor play areas are designed to provide children with a variety of engaging experiences that promote holistic play-based learning. Our weekly program is planned according to children’s developmental abilities, goals, strengths and interests. Educators draw on family input as well as community events and celebrations to strengthen children’s learning about their world. The play spaces include loose parts, dramatic play, creative arts, language and literacy centres, STEM and construction.

At Woodstock carefully consideration of the resources and the environment when setting up ensures children are exposed to a variety of learning opportunities within the play space. We understand the environment is the third teacher which when prepared correctly is a powerful teacher, capable of fostering curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.

At Woodstock we firmly believe that language and literacy development is fostered through rich language experiences, interactive play, and exposure to print-rich environments. This exposure to enriched language environments starts from the babies’ room, all the way through to the preschool room.
